nino giaccomo cocchiarella

Greetings,

I have been an independent “freelance” contractor for over 20 years. In that time I’ve made my living as much behind the camera and as a designer as I have in the open source web development world. I bring decades of experience in related fields.

Here is my boiler plate bio:

With a fine art background, 33 years of professional photography experience and 21 years running my own visual communications company, I am an industry leader and a good listener. Working in the print industry for many of the 21 years I have earned a reputation of the highest quality reproduction that is still deeply rooted in the traditional standards of typography.

I have also been developing, maintaining, and hosting websites since 1994. Many sites developed have received industry awards at the regional, national and international level. My previous Flash™ based web site “CDESIGN” and a CDROM based interactive educational program, “Magura Disc Brake Clinic,” received international recognition in the prestigious Graphis Interactive Design Annual.

A leader in data driven web applications recently finished a large online catalog database system that will port, via XML, to a press-ready print system. Updating pricing of thousands of items in a large catalog and generating files to go to pre-press takes only minutes. :: Check it out...

Well noticed for my work, I have received many District 6 ADDY’s as well as inclusion in Graphis Interactive Design 2, Graphis Promotions 2, The Photoshop Wow Books 3 & 4, Color Publishing, Info World and more . A senior in the digital imaging world, I have been a beta tester and PR spokesperson for Adobe Photoshop, starting in the mid 1990’s. In 2007 I was a speaker/panelist in, “Cross-media Design: Customer Perspectives on Planned and Ad Hoc Workflows.”, at Adobe Max in Chicago.

I lived and worked in Indianapolis and Evansville for 25 years. Desiring a smaller and more scenic rural surrounding we set up shop in the Bloomington area in 2008.

Some of my clients include: Eli Lilly and Company (photography for national marketing/education), Mead Johnson Nutritionals (I traveled the country to photograph the “Special Kids Calendar” for many years and helped create their image library), John Deere (interactive recruitment CD), Blomus USA (Dwell Magazine ads), Atlas Van Lines (annual report and national advertising photography), Toyota Manufacturing Indiana (photography, regional design), Shoe Carnival (product & location photography, national ads, in-house consulting), inwood office invironments (created & maintain their web presence), Medicus NY, (national advertising photography) Industrial Contractors (location photography & design), Old National Bank (executive photography), 5/3 Bank (executive photography, regional design) and VPS Architecture (location photography & design).

Thanks for looking!
